Week 92: First Week Down, November 13, 2017

Well here we are in La Fe, things are goin pretty good, my comps dope, the other missionaries in the apartment building are dope, and La Fe is dope, and the ward is dope.

I dont have pics of the apartment yet, but i like it, its not too big, but its roomy. And the bathrooms newish.
It´s been basically a whitewash cuz my comp has 3 weeks in the mission, so I dont blame him, but I´ve just been trying to find and keep up with some of the investigators they had before. I´m likin the area though.
Some of those investigators are still going strong, so thats good. A nearby ward was recently closed, so the area of it was divided between my ward and a different ward, so now we´ve got some new members in our ward and things are a little hectic, so we´re gunna be working with the ward leaders and helping them, so thats gunna be good. I´m pretty glad I got here, I mean obviously I´m glad to finally fulfill my dream of training, but also to help the ward, and show some people Christ´s true church.
Haven´t sent pics in awhile so heres to make up for it.
Halloween and stuff, some of the other elders in the pensh, the pensh, and yeah.
And here´s me and my son! Elder McConkie!

Love you!

Week 89: Capital Federal, October 23, 2017

Another week here in Adrogué C4. Thats legitimately what my areas called. Freakin dope. Anyway, this week we found some more people to teach. This Sunday was national voting here in Argentina, which is mandatory, so we couldn´t get anyone to church.

Also on Wednesday I went with the guy who does Visa stuff in the mission and 2 somewhat new sisters to go work on the visa for her. So we went to this place that I think was somewhat like an Embassy(?). I just felt like I was in Perú. I was surrounded by Peruvians and it was a little hotter in there then outside and the inside of the building just made me think I was in Perú. Pretty cool. Also it was about one block from the Casa Rosada, which is like the Argentine version of the White House, we just saw the outside of it, but it was still pretty cool. Then we saw the Obelisco, which was also pretty cool. Kindof a weaker version of the Washington Monument. Also it´s on the widest street in the world, 9 de Julio. Pretty cool.
Didnt take pics though cuz we just passed by, also we go there at the end of the mission.

So I was gunna take some pics of the pension, but I forgot too. Maybe after we clean it a little bit. So, sorry mom, no pics today! Have a good week!

Love you!

Week 78: Late to the Zone Conference, August 7, 2017

Well, this week went by super quick and it was a pretty solid week, even though on thursday we had a zone conference and activity and me and my comp got there about an hour and a half late and he kinda hurt his leg in the activity. So its been interesting since then, but we got there late cuz we barely missed the train, then my comp knew how to get there in bus, but we wouldve had to take like 3 buses, we went anyway, then realized, after taking the first bus, that it probably wasnt gunna work that well, so we went to the nearest train station to where we had gotten off, and the train took awhile to get there. But we were finally on our way. We get there, and we had to switch trains and take a super old dope one, that took forever to get there of course, then we werent sure where to get off, so we ended up gettin off 1 station early and walking the rest of the way to the stake center of a different stake. So that was a blast. but we made it finally, had the meeting, went super well, then we played soccer with a bunch of other missionaries.

Oh yeah! I also did the first intercambios ever of a new elder in our district! His name is Elder Gonzalez and hes my DLs comp and hes from San Juan, Argentina! Hes super dope. we had a good time. heres a pic!
Well! Gotta go, my family had an awesome family reunion this last week, i saw some pictures, and im glad everyone was safe! Love you guys!

Love you!

Week 69: District Activities and Contacts, June 5, 2017

So last Monday we had a district activity where Elder Gonzalez made tacos and then we played soccer. We had some members come and we did not take any pictures haha. It was pretty fun though.

Then on Tuesday we had interviews with President Calquin which is always good, had a super good interview with him and he explained to me some of the changes that have been going on in the mission recently and how the mission has changed alot, all for the better. It was awesome.
Then on Wednesday we had a district meeting, and I came with a little game prepared to test my districts knowledge of the Book of Mormon, which ended up taking the whole time haha, but it was good, I stumped em all a couple times.
So yeah this week we`ve been doing a lot of contacts. Every day just tons of contacts. Not a lot of people to teach. But we`re gettin there, we still haven`t gone a week without finding someone to teach so thats good. We`re still keepin the good spirits up though so thats good. This is the last PDay of Elder gonzalez de viña del mar chile so we bought a super fat pizza with cheese and ham in the crust and in the bread and a bunch of alfajores. So pretty much all is well. Pictures to come next week.

Week 67: Paraguayos, May 22, 2017

Well this week we did intercambios (comp exchanges) and me and a short Chilean named González went to this area outside of our area where a ton of people from Paraguay come and build their houses. It`s a lot more humble, so we`re gunna start working there way more. We found a big family to teach and talked to a bunch of other people that seem prepped. Also it`s not mapped out very well in the pensh, so I`ve been trying to get ubicated (thats spanglish, idk how to explain it, just use context clues) by writing down and drawing every street we find up there (it`s at the end of our area) so we`re gunna be able to leave that behind for the next Elders, other than the large amounts of Paraguayos that will be gettin baptized as we keep heading up there.

Other than that it was a somewhat unsuccessful week, but we`re still doin good and gettin alot better at applying faith to the work, and then work, and letting the Lord give us the blessing of people to teach, or not! All up to him.
Also I`ve been studying the Book of Mormon like no other this week, and it just gets better and better. I literally spent like an hour marking and re-reading 1 Nefi 17. Just so many dope things that happen/are quoted in that chapter, then Nefi lays it on his bros like no other.

So I forgot my camera memory card thing, no pics this week! But hopefully we`ll get some goin next week.

Love you!

Week 25: July! July 25, 2016

We´re already gettin to August which is nuts. That means all you children will soon be back in the classroom. That also means that we might be warm pretty soon here.

Well the paraguayan who came to church way too late came way too early this sunday so we were kinda bummed about that, hes super awesome.

The system for reimbursements broke down so we might not have anything but personal money for food and travel for a couple days. kinda sucks cuz im running out but i dont wanna ask my companion to use his money. We spent a lot of time at a lot of different banks for him to finally withdraw some money his family had sent him. Hes from very humble beginnings. But to celebrate his being able to withdraw the money we went to a huge buffet on our way home from visa jenk. Id send pictures but its not havin it today.  So more stuff for next week haha.

Were gunna focus on family home evenings this week, because the members are excited to work, the investigators and whatnot are willing to and need to become friends with the few members we have, and so were just gunna start throwing them together in the house of whoever we can. Pretty excited.

This last week we were able to work alot, but its been extra freezing cold lately so its been a little more of a sacrifice haha. Also despite the cold more people are out on the street at night, so my companion hasnt been sleeping well. Just impressive the amount of children and whatnot walking outside our pension like its a summer day.

I invite you all to enjoy the summer! Especially the heat! And also the chance to have family home evenings!

Love you!

Week 23: Howdydo? July 11, 2016

Transfers this week! Were stayin here! Both me and Elder Gonzales arent changing a bit, which I´m pretty glad for. I didnt want to move or leave Las Flores just yet. To celebrate we ate 2 big ol pizzas on the roof of our neighbors house. Pictures attached (i hope).

What did change was our district. Now its only two elders in Cañuelas, Elder Jesson from Pennsylvannia, and my best friend Elder Bonifaz from Spain is leaving, i think hes gunna be in the same district as my last companion and ´dad´ Elder Derbez.
The Hermanas Muñoz from Spain and Chappel from America are staying in Monte, where Sister Chappel will finish her training and Sister Muñoz will die and return home honorably.
Im gunna send a ton of pictures of what we did today. This morning for our P-Day we went to a museum here in Las Flores. They have an impressive amount of history and fossils and stuff like that. Pictures and commentary to come.
We´ve been working a lot with this 22 year old who has drug problems named Laureano, he thinks im an angel, but we love him and are excited to teach him. We´ve been focusing a lot on helping everyone we teach, members or not, to pray, read, and go to church. I had to think about that to translate it for a second haha. These 3 things are basic, and if someone does them with real intent, all things will be made known unto them, pertaining to this life and the next. All things. Pretty great for a little bit of effort.
The Branch has been working a lot recently, with the Elders quorum going and visitng less actives and stuff, and were super excited for it! Baptisms are very common in my mission, because the members are super helpful, except for Las Flores and a few other areas haha. Mostly because were so few here. But were still goin!
The times flyin, I love you all, keep being awesome and spending time together and with family! Jesus Christ is alive and he leads our church today! Doctrine and Covenants 122 really puts the atonement into perspective. Great section.

Love you!
