Transfers! Who woulda thought. Because of the large number of missionaries coming in they did transfers a week early this time. Me and my comp, Elder McMillan, are still comps but they moved us to a place called Adrogué, where the offices of the mission are located, we arent office elders though, but we do live with them. We are also in a trio with my excomp Elder Jesson!
Super weird. We´re not really sure what happened but me and my comp are kinda bummed cuz we had a Venezuelan family who was gunna get baptized this Saturday, but we had to say our goodbyes unexpectedly.
So my new pension is massive! I think we´re gunna be like 8 living there or something, not sure. Next week I´ll know more about my area and why its like this and all that. We had gotten calls on Saturday telling us we were gunna do the same thing but in a different area, and then today the remis (taxi) came super early (they weren´t able to call and let us know at what time they were coming) and took us here instead haha.
Anyway this last week we were able to hear from Elder Kosneslousky or something. It was super awesome! Him and his wife and the assistants and President and his wife all spoke, it was pretty cool, we had a good time. Also because we had to travel so far to get there we stayed in my old pension in Banfield 1 the night before! It was super weird to be in one of my old areas.
Well both my comps finish their missions at the end of these next 7 weeks, so we´ll see how this goes. Have a good week everyone, no pictures today!
Dang time is moving pretty quick. Doesnt seem like Ive already been here 3 weeks.
Anyway we´re pretty used to our area and the members already, and things are starting to move. Somewhat uneventful week though. Taught some people and still visiting the members with hopes of getting some referrals, as theyre called in the States. A few parts of this area are super rich though so sometimes the people are somewhat cold haha. Always interesting how its like that.
Last monday we had a district activity where we made choripan and played soccer. It was pretty fun cuz our district is our entire zone, so its pretty big, theres like 10 of us. Then someone managed to kick the ball outside the court even though it has a fence and a net over it. Some Elders climbed over into the nieghbors yard and we talked to the neighbor and everything but we still couldnt manage to even find the ball haha. So yeah we all pitched in and bought a new ball for the member.
Also yesterday was the primary program, always hilarious and the best. Wish more investigadors couldve made it, that type of stuff is golden, but you know what they say, ´´its not my salvation´´. Hence the title, cuz i probably wont see alot more of those in spanish for the rest of my life.
Heres me with my comp and his argyle sweaters.
Also there was a stray dog in the cyber last week haha, but soon after we snapped the pick, the guy came a kicked the dog out
I forgot to send an email to Justin and then he forgot to send a report email! Here’s why I did not send mine:
From me to him:
So this is what happened… Sunday evening and I sat down and wrote you a letter to send with your package that you’re going to be getting at the end of the month with your new debit card. After I was done hand writing a letter I just basically forgot to email you! So I am emailing you right now and then I’ll email you again this Sunday so you have two emails next week!!
Well down here in the Mission Field theres a thing called whiteout, where the missionaries in an area are both transferred out, and 2 missionaries arrive there not nowing a thing about the members or the area.
Me and my old pal Elder McMillan are about to experience what a whiteout is really like up here in Villa Madero. Its awesome because Elder McMillan is one of my good friends from the beginning of my mission, and also because Villa Madero is the northernmost area of our mission. So I have officially shared borders with the Bahía Blanca, BsAs West, BsAs East, and BsAs North missions. All of em. Isnt that nifty? I kinda always was one to just drift around the outside anyway. Also we are a highway away from the capital of Buenos Aires, and by that i mean the whole area that is none as capital, nowhere near the obelisko and all that jenk. at least i dont think. not 100% sure. Anyway, I just got here today.
My last week in Catan was pretty good! We had a Family Home Evening with the Paso Guillén family and the Monaca Family, which went really well! We talked a little bit about temples and Family History. Great time. The next day only Camila and Alberto made it to church, but we were super greatful for that anyway, cuz it was kinda a rainy morning, and not a lot of members made it actually haha. We also were invited to a huge asado and we all ate so much that we could barely eat the dinner that some other members invited us to that night.
Here´s Camila and Alberto and then Yamila and Cristian, the children of a different family who always gave us lunch and who are awesome, and then the Monaca Family, then when I was headed out of Catán. Elder Hall, the chunky one, goes home tonight, so it was a pretty interesting weekend. He goes home honorably by the way, just so thats clear.
Well we had Stake Conference yesterday. It was a big ol multinational conference thing where Elder Rasband, whos a boss, and Craig C. Christensen and another woman whose name was forgotten unto me, the President of the First Primary Presidency. She talked about how if we want strawberries, we gotta plant strawberries. We cant plant carrots and expect strawberries. Good life lesson. Also Edler Rasband told all the members that they need to be better member missionaries.
Also el Tuesday we helped the Stake Missionary Prep class, which went super well! Most of the youth in there are from our ward, but we taught about how the Atonement applies to missionary work, and it went super well!
And the Family Paso Guillén had a super rough week these last 2 weeks, cuz Josecito got sick and went to the hospital and was there for a week and then the mom got sick and the gave her an operation (english?) last sunday, and she was super bad afterwards, like throwing up and stuff. But then when she was back home we gave em both blessings and the next day they were both waay better. Now the mom is alot happier to see us haha. Priesthood power anyone? So yeah.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEX YOUR THE BEST BROTHER IVE EVER HAD IN PERU IMMA SEND A SEPARATE EMAIL SO THE OTHER PEOPLE DONT GET ANNOYED. Have a good week everyone.
Well last night we threw a surprise birthday party for my excomp and zone leader elder Funk with some members, it was super awesome! We took a lot of pictures! But not with my camera. He turned 21!
This week we also had comp exchanges with the district leader Elder Brown, which was awesome, we had a bunch of fun, i stayed here in catan and my comp went with Browns comp to LaFe 2, where my comp had actually served about a year ago! Theres a soccer team here in Argentina called Almirante Brown, so we found this. Heres some pictures with me and elder browns comp, then with me and elder brown. I have yet to take a picture with my current comp using my camera haha, when i do, ill get it to ya.
