Well, I was gunna attach an epic picture of me and my son and the second counselor of the Area Presidency, Elder Bragg, who surprise visited our ward yesterday, but the picture thing aint workin.
Anyway, last man standing is Elder McConkie. All my other mission comps ever are officially in their houses. It´s a wierd feeling knowing im one of the oldest buddies on the mission field.
Anyway yeah Elder Bragg came down to good ol LaFerrere, it was awesome. Him and his wife are legit. They also had a meeting with the Ward Counsel afterwards that apparently went pretty well.
So we´ve been workin with our investigadors, and finding some new ones to teach. A couple weeks ago this guy named Juan (but everyone calls him Toro (Bull)) came to church. None of us missionaries knew him, but apparently he had come awhile back, never got baptized though. Yesterday we finally found him and had a lesson with him, one of the most humbling lessons I´ve ever had. He is in a lot of emotional pain, and is looking for a way out. When most people these days would look into any other means but God to escape pain, Juan dont. So yeah we´re pretty excited for him.
Dont have much time left but I love this work and I love the Lord and I love you all and hope you all come to know the Lord so you can take part in this work! Nothin else makes people truly happy.
Have a good week everyone!
My little sons a transfer old in the mission now! Not counting the MTC of course.
Anyway this week was pretty solid. It was Thanksgiving! Me, my comp, and this other newby gringo yankee in the ward made tacos. Classic American Thanksgiving. I think I have pictures. They were pretty good though, and relatively cheap! The other kid had brought some taco seasoning from home.
We also had intercambios this Tuesday with my DL and his son. We switched kids for a day. His name is Elder Beckstead, he´s from Utah but his parents are from Venezuela, we had a good time. My son also had a good time with my Paraguayo DL.
Things are goin good down here! We´re finding a lot of people that seem super ready to recieve the gospel, sometimes it just seems impossible to find em again! But I´m ready to keep working with em and finding more. I was in my last two areas very little time so I kinda forgot how it felt to know my area and know that I still have time to work here.
Also my son met my dad! The classic family pic is of my mexican dad and my californian son. My dad finishes his mission today, along with my last two comps, Elder Jesson and Elder McMillan.
Oh yeah I think I also threw in a picture we took in Gibson street back in Adrogué.
Well here we are in La Fe, things are goin pretty good, my comps dope, the other missionaries in the apartment building are dope, and La Fe is dope, and the ward is dope.
I dont have pics of the apartment yet, but i like it, its not too big, but its roomy. And the bathrooms newish.
It´s been basically a whitewash cuz my comp has 3 weeks in the mission, so I dont blame him, but I´ve just been trying to find and keep up with some of the investigators they had before. I´m likin the area though.
Some of those investigators are still going strong, so thats good. A nearby ward was recently closed, so the area of it was divided between my ward and a different ward, so now we´ve got some new members in our ward and things are a little hectic, so we´re gunna be working with the ward leaders and helping them, so thats gunna be good. I´m pretty glad I got here, I mean obviously I´m glad to finally fulfill my dream of training, but also to help the ward, and show some people Christ´s true church.
Haven´t sent pics in awhile so heres to make up for it.
Halloween and stuff, some of the other elders in the pensh, the pensh, and yeah.
And here´s me and my son! Elder McConkie!
Well, this week we did actually paint a couple of places, one of which being the apartment in Las Flores¡ my first area¡ i hope i can get some pics up here, we´ll see. But we were also able to do a decent amount of proselyting with the little time we had so that was good¡
Also sorry for the ¡ ,this computer cant quite produce a normal exclamation point, but thats life.
So on Saturday I got a call from the assistant. They called a new assistant this week because one of the current ones goes home soon, so some elder had to take his place as Zone LEader, then some other Elder had to take his place, and they called good ol Gibby to take the 3rd elders place as trainer¡
I´m now with Elder McConkie from Orange County¡ I got here a couple hours ago but I can already tell he´s a baller. We´re gunna have a good time, and I´m gunna be able to work hard here to finish my mission instead of helping out with the offices. I´m not complaining about having been there half in the offices, but I am super excited to be here. My ward is called La Ferrere. I had been here once before because its close to my old area, Catán 3.
So thats the biggest news for now, I´m super excited, and even more grateful. God lives, he loves us, and nothing is a surprise to him¡ He prepares us for the future, we just gotta be humble enough to realize, accept, and make happen all the stuff he wants us to do. This Church is true, I love you all, and I let you know more about this place next week.
No pictures yet again, sorry peeps, this computers a little slow and i also forgot my adaptor thing in Adrogué, so next week for sure hopefully.
This week we helped quite a few less actives get to church, so that was super awesome! Other then that we weren´t able to teach a whole lot of investigadors, but we keep going anyway!
On Thursday we had Zone Conference and Activity. The Conference was super good as always, and me and the team I played soccer on won the Losers Bracket, so that was pretty fun actually. Had a good time.
Apparently this week we`re gunna be helping the Pensionero a ton with painting apartments and stuff like that, so it´s gunna be fun but we´re probably not gunna have a lot of time to work during the week. Gunna be interesting.
Today we have a District Activity, we got a volleyball net and ball, all we need to find are the posts for the net that are supposedly in the Church, but we`ll see. I`ll try to take some pictures.
Here´s a few pics of the pension! We´re 9 living there now. 4 bedroom 3 bathroom. I only took a few pics of the ´dining room´ and the ´living room´.
Oh yeah my comps and some other elders also made chocolate chip pancakes and then later blueberry pancakes, and i came in with the maple syrup. super good.
