That word means excitement. Kindof. Anyway, the ward called 12 ward missionaries, so we`re gunna start being able to work a lot more with them. Seems like the members are pretty jacked to see some baptisms in their ward, and everybody´s ready to work hard to get em, so thats something dope thats going down recently out here in Catán 3.
Actually the Area said that we as Elders can´t proselite with Sisters anymore, and most of the new ward missionaries are sisters, so we`re gunna see how this works out.
But anyway, I finally got some pictures we took at a couple service projects we did for this one family of Bolivians. It`s hard work, and it`s an interesting way to build a house (pure concrete and bricks), so I had a good time working hard and laughing a little bit. Also here are the Elders who live next to us, they are our Zone Leaders too, Elder Jeppson from Price, Utah, and Elder González de Vina del Mar, Chile.
Tomorrow we have interviews with the Mission President, and today a district activity, so hopefully I`ll have some more pictures next week, but I love you all and wish you a good week!
Well this week we did intercambios (comp exchanges) and me and a short Chilean named González went to this area outside of our area where a ton of people from Paraguay come and build their houses. It`s a lot more humble, so we`re gunna start working there way more. We found a big family to teach and talked to a bunch of other people that seem prepped. Also it`s not mapped out very well in the pensh, so I`ve been trying to get ubicated (thats spanglish, idk how to explain it, just use context clues) by writing down and drawing every street we find up there (it`s at the end of our area) so we`re gunna be able to leave that behind for the next Elders, other than the large amounts of Paraguayos that will be gettin baptized as we keep heading up there.
Other than that it was a somewhat unsuccessful week, but we`re still doin good and gettin alot better at applying faith to the work, and then work, and letting the Lord give us the blessing of people to teach, or not! All up to him.
Also I`ve been studying the Book of Mormon like no other this week, and it just gets better and better. I literally spent like an hour marking and re-reading 1 Nefi 17. Just so many dope things that happen/are quoted in that chapter, then Nefi lays it on his bros like no other.
So I forgot my camera memory card thing, no pics this week! But hopefully we`ll get some goin next week.
I wanted to include in here a little shoutout to all my moms that I couldnt see in the computer on Sunday. But even though I did the my Mom on Sunday, you`re included in this too. I love you guys! I wouldn`t be here if it weren`t for your constant support over the years, and for some of you, over my whole life! I want a lot of my moms that read this to know that you are included too, even if you dont think you had a lot of influence on me. The point is, every tiny act and good example helps! We`re in a constant battle to get better, and pretty much all the moms in the world make up for all the damage us men do, so we owe a lot to you guys! Thank you! Love you all.
This week we had a Zone Conference, and the mission is becoming a lot more obedient now and we are having a lot more baptisms. So yeah things are going super well. We`re still lookin for some new people to teach, but we have a couple we`re working with, so we`ll see how all this goes.
Other than that, it was Mothers Day. So here`s a picture of an unplanned Family Home Evening we had last night when our lessons fell through. Yesterday there was a game between Argentinas two biggest soccer teams so it was kinda hard to get people to want to listen to us, but it turned out alright.
Well I`m loving my new area. Lots of food, lots of work, and super dope members. Imma have a good time here. Also all the food here is cheaper then any of my other areas on the mission.
So we live outisde our area but behind a family who always gives us food. We live in apartments behind their house, where the Zone Leaders also lives, so we always hangout with them at night and sometimes at lunch, which is super fun. But yeah I`m gettin used to my area, so we`ve got some people to teach and we`re ready to really get em goin.
This week we had to leave Thursday night and we took a collectivo all the way to Capital. Thats the central part of BA. We passed the temple! It was super awesome. Anyway then we went to the offices to sleep and the next morning we went to a leadership training meeting and those are always good to learn from the President and the Assistants. Also to see old friends and comps from the mish. It was pretty good.
So here`s some pìctures from before I left Guernica and when I was leaving. Mostly just members. The old guy with one eye is Loco Luis, he always left with us to accompany us. The guy that can`t stand up straight is Pedro and his family, I never did figure out if he was born like that or something happened to him. Theyre super dope though we had lunches and dinners with em a lot. On one of the pictures there`s a dark skinned brazilian that you wont recognize he replaced me in Guernica and he`s cool and hard working so I`m not worried about that place going back downhill anymore haha.
Well, Mother`s Day is coming up so we`re gunna see what we can do this week to celebrate other then Skype on Sunday! Have a good week! Especially you Mom and Winston! I saw all the videos mom took of you in your program, you did awesome dude! Keep being a musical genius!
HA! Gotchya. Transfers are still 6 weeks. But anyway, this week was crazy.
Also I got transfered out of Guernica. They put me in a place called Catan. In the Catan 3 Ward. Its gunna be a hoot. I can tell this is gunna be a great place of learning and teaching. Oh also they kept me as District Leader, also my new comp is Elder Jesson from Pennsylvania. I don`t know how to spell that. He`s super cool! He was actually in my district when I was in Las Flores! So we`re kinda jacked to be comps, and we`re gunna work super hard here. He knows the area pretty well, so here goes nothing!
Anyway, on Saturday the ward had an activity where a bunch of members came and we went out and visited some people, then had lunch, then cleaned the chapel. I mean the church. It was super awesome! We got to visit a lot of people as a ward. And then, on Sunday, the chapel was full! Literally over a hundred people came! Thats like 20 more than normal, it was amazing! We had a couple investigators, and so did the other Elders, and a butt ton of less actives came. It was awesome. So yeah they were all there for the confirmation of Nancy, which was super awesome, love those things.
So on Tuesday, Elder Teixeira finished his mission (honorably), which we all knew was coming, so me and Elder Kautai went to Alejandro Korn with him until Thursday. Then that night me and him stayed in his pensh. So I hardly slept in my own bed this week, but thats alright. Also I hardly spent any time with my comp, so that was weird. Also Elder Kautai came with me to Catan, he`s in the first ward, and in my district, so we`re just keepin the squad goin I guess.
Well, all in all, I`m pretty tired. But I aint here to rest, so we`re gunna see how this week goes in a new area with a new District, and it`s gunna be a good time. I love you all and I`ll see you next week!
Well, I left you all last week with hope of a surprise, her name is Nancy! She`s in the pictures, the short Peruvian woman thats in baptismal clothing, yeah her. She got baptized! Not confirmed yet though, so its gunna be a weird week. She was super nervous though but really excited. She hasn`t missed church since I`ve been here in Guernica I think. A member named Agustin baptized her, he`s a somewhat recently returned missionary, and he`s super awesome.
So yeah her son has been in the Posadas, Argentina mission for about 6 months now, and she says he always tells her to get baptized but she didn`t want to till we explained to her that it would be way better to get baptized now then enter the temple with her son. Also my MTC comp and another MTC friend are in that mission.
Also last week we had a District activity, here`s a picture. I think I also threw one in there from when me and my comp went to McDonalds.
OH also we had intercambios (comp exchanges) twice last week and here`s how they went.
Haha so yeah I went with Kautai and we ate a bunch of junk food, and then I went with my zone leader Elder Smout and we had a good time. Found some new investigators with both of em.
Well, Tuesday we had exchanges. Then Thursday we had exchanges. Then I got sick. Then we had a District Activity. And here we are. Idk if I`ll be able to share pictures but I went with the dark one, Elder Kautai, and then with Elder Smout, my good friend from Monte Grande.
It was awesome! With Smout we decided we needed to have a specific goal for the intercambios, so we decided we had enough faith to ask God for a family to teach and be able to baptize soon, so we did! Then we left the pensh after lunch, it was like 3 o clock, which here in Argentina means naptime, so we knocked on a bunch of doors. But one of the first doors we talked to a super rich woman who didn`t want anything. Then we knocked on a more humble house, and some guy came and talked to us, then he let us in and we had a lesson! It was super cool! They `re awesome! The guy and his wife and their 2 little kids and some other old woman was there! Our prayer got answered! Super good experience! One for the books for sure.
Did a similar thing with Kautai, and we found some guy to teach and it went super well too, I just don`t have enough time to type out 2 stories.
Also for our district activity we played soccer and a bit of basketball and volleyball. I planned it Sunday night so that was good.
Also it was Easter! Hardly noticed. Not a whole lot of traditions down here, just sometimes the parents buy kids super expensive chocolate easter eggs. It was a good Sunday though, and we were able to get a lot done.
Shoutouts to everyone, I love you all, wish I could send pictures, email me or send me cards or money. I should have a big surprise coming next week.
