Heres chorizo for ya. looks wierd. super good though. i think we bought a different type. its tough not speaking the more-then-national language. want a little preview of how tough it is just watch the video attached. if you can. idk if technology works that well. my companion has his camera out a lot.
dont worry though i wasnt actually mad or anything, we were just goofing around on Pday. Also attached is a nice little behind the scenes view on our morning routine. Happy Halloween!
Anyway, todays halloween! were gunna eat some ´fast food´ and then make some stuff for the district meeting tomorrow. gunna be good. American candy beats all other types. Dont have any of that though.
We got an investigator to church this Sunday! He actually got up and made a less active friend come with him. And a couple in our ward recently baptized their daughter and got sealed in the temple with the family, and they spoke when the investigator came. It was super spiritual and super awesome. The Lord has a marvelous work and a wonder prepared, and Im glad i will be able to see even the smallest part of it.
We havent had as much success recently but we have a lot of people to teach and a few of em are progressing really well, and we are excited and happy to say the least!
On Tuesday we had splits with the Zone Leaders, I went with Elder Shill again, he was super sick, so we stayed in his pension almost the whole time. He went to the hospital the next day. Hes fine though, was just a little rough for like a week.
Love you all!
So my favorite Argentine food so far is probably Chorizo. Its just super chunky fatty sausage thats mostly pork? and is super delicious. We´re gunna buy some today so.
This week we commited a family to baptism! If they come to know that these things are true! Haha. Which they will of course, because these things are true. Her name is Griselda, his is Miguel. I dont think theyre married, so were gunna have to get em married first of course, but they have two kids, Gonzalo and Daira, who are 12 and 15, and we´re super jacked about em.
Well we didnt find anyone else to teach this week and we had to drop a few investigators so thats never fun, but we did a bunch of contacts and this week we have exchanges with the zone leaders so hopefully well be able to pick it back up a bit!
This Sunday we had Stake Conference and the Mission President and his wife spoke and it was pretty cool. We got up early to go get investigators and less actives cuz there was a rented bus that passed by their houses, but they still didnt come haha. All good though, we put our forces in and thats all the Lord asks.
We also went Bowling with the District this last week for the activity, but i didnt bring my camera so hopefully my companion will send me some. More snails. Also since i have no good pictures i took one of the TV here in the Internet Cafe of the TV. On the side it says ´Killing for Sport´. Welcome to Argentina. I have no idea what a coto de caza is though.
Well, some poeple have been gettin quite the kick out of Elder Funk and Elder Gibson being companions, usually only those special Argentines who know a bit about American music. Including this one guy we found who makes tiny metal sculptures and speaks and understands English. It was weird but super funny cuz he knows cusswords too.
Anyway yeah we´ve been contacting a ton, meaning we just meet people and testify and invite then to act. We´ve found a couple new people to teach and we´re excited about that.
We´ve been working super hard and I love it. I really feel like if we keep up the exact obedience and hard work we will see miracles, in our lives and in the lives of those we teach. Our area has a lot of opportunity and we´re excited about it.
Here are a couple pictures Elder Funk took of me, just normal missionary life here. Its still weird having a companion that understands English almost perfectly. I say almost because we´ve both been talking Spanish for a while now and our English is slowly slipping away.
Not much to report on this week, but the Hermana Shepard, who was in Las Flores during my training, got transferred into our ward, so were in the same ward again! Shes awesome and its cool to see how we both have progressed in our language and work ethic.
I love you all and I hope youre all enjoying life, even though its super tiring at times! Have a great week!
